The HOD12DP Hi-Gain Outdoor Dual-Band 12dBi Directional Antenna Kit is a heavy-duty, weather proof antenna for extending the range of your 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi devices. The HOD12DP increases the wireless strength from a standard 2dBi (decibels) to a staggering 12dBi, resulting in up to 400% increase in the wireless coverage and strength.*

DUAL-POLARIZATION MIMO, A SMART ANTENNA TECHNOLOGY, IMPROVES THE WIRELESS CONNECTION BETWEEN YOUR WIFI DEVICES

Unlike most standard Wi-Fi antennas that use the same pathway to transmit and receive data, the HOD12DP is built with three antennas to create multiple paths for your wireless communication. This means better range and signal quality for wireless networks.
 
DUAL-BAND FLEXIBILITY: HOW IT WORKS

The 2.4GHz frequency is the most commonly used wireless bandwidth. It also has limited bandwidth for multiple activities, such as sending emails, video chatting, streaming movies, playing games, etc. In addition, the same 2.4GHz frequency is used by other wireless routers in the area, as well as some common household devices such as cordless phones and microwaves. This causes interference and major backlog with your online activities. Dual-Band technology fixes these issues by providing the 5.0GHz frequency. This allows compatible devices to connect to the more open 5.0GHz channels, eliminating the 2.4GHz interference, thus speeding up your internet. The HOD12DP strengthens and extends Dual-Band signal for long range, high traffic wireless networks.

 
 
DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA FOR LONG RANGE POINT-TO-POINT WI-FI APPLICATIONS

The Directional Antenna concentrates the signal in one direction for stronger signal and better long range wireless connections. The Directional Antenna is also great for long range Point-to-Point wireless applications as in the diagram below. For extended wireless coverage, pair the Directional antennas, one on each end, to maximize your distance (as illustrated in the image below, from location A to B).

 
 
PLUG-AND-PLAY INSTALLATION

Simply replace your device antenna with the HOD12DP. The HOD12DP antenna has N-Type connector and comes with N-Type to SMA adapters, the most commonly used antenna connector. For other type of adapters, please visit Hawking Tech's website for additional selections. Outdoor Antenna cable is sold separately. Select the right length to minimize your cable loss.

 


Once you have mounted and connected your Hi-Gain™ Outdoor 12dBi Directional Antenna, be sure to note the signal pattern of the antenna. Make sure your devices are within the signal pattern shown above to maximize your wireless coverage with your HOD12DP. Adjust the antenna as needed.

Check the specs for each product (will usually be listed a H-Plane and E-Plane: H-Plane is the Horizontal view and E-Plane is Vertical view)
