HOW THE HWABN2 ACCESS POINT /BRIDGE PRO WORKS

While most standard wireless networks diminish significantly past a coverage radius of 200 feet (i.e. slow and unstable connections for intensive online activities, such as web surfing, video chatting, streaming, and gaming), the HWABN2 AP/Bridge's built-in power amplifier optimizes your wireless network by reducing Wi-Fi interference and boosting the output power up to 500mW. Combined with the Hawking Hi-Gain Technology and its removable antenna features, the HWABN2 is built for long range wireless coverage for the most range demanding environments. The HWABN2 is designed with multiple operating modes: Access Point, Ethernet Bridge, Bridge: Point-to-Point, Bridge: Point-to-Multiple Point, WDS Bridge. (Click on the image below to see all operating modes)

Description 2
If the HWABN2 is configured as a bridge client, can I replace the antennas to receive signal from a long distance?
Yes, Hi gain antennas can be used along with the HWABN2
  What is an access point?
Access Point mode is used to convert a wired network to a wireless network. In simple words, if you have a Router which doesn't have the wireless capability, Access Point can be connected to it using an Ethernet cable and broadcast the wireless signal.
You can also use an access point to connect to your wired network to create more wireless nodes.
  What is a wireless bridge?
Bridge Client Mode is used to convert a wireless network to a wired network. In simple words, if you have wireless signal in your house, using the Bridge the wireless signals can be received and given to any device using Ethernet Cable.
Example: You can use the Bridge for you TV which doesn't accept wireless connection
Can the HWABN2 work as a range extender?
The HWABN2 supports only WDS to extend a wireless network. It is always recommended to use identical devices when using WDS since this mode is dependent on the wireless chipset. WDS mode can support up to 4 different Access Points simultaneously, but it can support an almost infinite # if daisy chained ie. A talks to B, B talks to A and C, C talks to B and D, etc.
I’ve lost the antenna, can I get a replacement?
Yes, go to our www.gohawking.com store and you can find a replacement antenna.
